Brutality, bluster & bravado are on full display in new ‘WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES’ trailer

Courtney Howard // Film Critic

We’ve reached the third chapter in the masterfully rebooted PLANET OF THE APES series with WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES. And it’s apparent that director Matt Reeves will gift the franchise with one helluva entry. The final trailer for the film, set to Iggy and the Stooges’ “Search and Destroy,” showcases more of Woody Harrelson’s ruthless “Colonel Kurtz” like character, as well as more with “Bad Ape,” the character Steve Zahn performs, and the mute yil’ human girl (played by Amiah Miller) who joins the band of rogues on their journey.

HERE PLEASE TAKE ALL OF OUR MONIES!

Here’s the official synopsis:

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel.  After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind.  As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

We loved DAWN FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES and feel VERY confident about this next chapter in the beloved series. Judging by what we saw at the footage presentation back in December, fans of the series will pleased with how they integrate iconography from the original into the current series.

WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES open on July 14.
