It’s about to get a whole heck of a lot hotter in Atlanta (a.k.a. “Hotlanta”)! GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 has begun shooting today at Pinewood Studios. Director James Gunn and the defenders of the galaxy all return; Peter Quill/ Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Groot (Vin Diesel) and Rocket(Bradley Cooper). New cast members include Pom Klementieff (OLDBOY), Elizabeth Debicki (THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E), Chris Sullivan (THE KNICK) and Kurt Russell (THE HATEFUL EIGHT).

Though the press release is tight-lipped on plot, it does state

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.

So have your batteries ready, Walkman on standby with Awesome Mix Vol. 2 ready to blare in your headphones when GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 opens on May 5, 2017.
