I think THE PURGE franchise is one of the few wherein the filmmakers listen to critics and fans. Suggestions and creative debates have led to the series making radical moves in the way each of their sequels have creatively developed and blossomed. THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR seems no different. Since the fictional “Purge” in the films target the poor, it’s a fascinating facet to explore what would happen if an political underdog (Elizabeth Mitchell) ran against the rich bureaucrats on a platform of righteousness. One thing is for sure: She’ll need to beef up her security. That’s where bad-ass Frank Grillo comes in….

Take a look.

THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR opens on July 1. Yay ‘Merica!
