‘HARRY POTTER’ flies again at the Alamo Drafthouse

HARRY POTTER author, J.K. Rowling, once said, “Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”

That statement couldn’t be any more heartwarming to hear. It’s comforting to know that no matter where you are in your life, you can pick back up with these characters, like old friends, and escape to their magical world. The way these stories are written for both page and screen are fantastically detailed and lived-in. Really, it’s the ultimate fantasy.

Television Networks like Freeform and HBO know how special these films are to audiences and therefore host multiple HARRY POTTER Weekends a year. And without much hesitation, we cancel all plans and snuggle with our fellow muggles to watch all eight films back to back. (It’s pretty much the best weekends of every year.)

However, if you want to change your setting, chow down on some tasty food and sip on some to-die-for butterbeer, why not return to Hogwarts by way of the Alamo Drafthouse?

The theater, located in Richardson, is extending the usual weekend-on-TV Potter bonanza to a week-long event on the big screen. The cinema will screen all eight movies and are even throwing in 2016’s FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM for good measure. Re-watch or introduce a lucky somebody to the beloved franchise in the format that it’s meant to be seen in.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Series kicks off tonight with HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE at 6:45 p.m. at the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson, with each proceeding film screening the following day at the same time (except on Saturday and Sunday, which will be around 4 p.m.). And to top it all off, the Alamo even has an exclusive menu for the event that includes the already-mentioned butterbeer (a buttered apple cider made with and without alcohol) and a treacle tart (a tart dough with crunchy flakes tossed in golden syrup and blueberries, served with whipped cream).

I solemnly swear I’m up to no good. So be like me and leviosa yourself over to the Alamo and let the magic begin!
