After over a decade of starts and stops, the film adaptation of Lois Lowry’s grade-school staple THE GIVER has finally arrived.
Australian newcomer Brenton Thwaites (MALEFICENT) plays Jonas, a boy living contentedly in a seemingly perfect community of sterilized, controlled “sameness” until he is allotted to receive all the memories of history – both good and bad.
Fresh Fiction had the opportunity to sit down with Thwaites in Dallas to talk about the film adaptation, the little things in life, memories of playing music with Jeff Bridges and partying in the nude, and perfecting the Aussie accent.
THE GIVER opens nationwide on 8/15.
