All of us here at FreshFiction.tv have dogs and have a soft spot in our hearts for those furry, four-legged sweethearts. All the unconditional love and support they provide is incredible. If you’re already verklempt thinking about how your dog’s love has helped you through hard times, the new trailer for A DOG’S PURPOSE will reduce you to a puddle of tears – probably in public spaces.

Look at all of THOSE guys! At what minute during this trailer, did you stop to go hug your dog? I did at the 1:13 mark. And again at that point re-watching it.

Based on the beloved bestselling novel by W. Bruce Cameron, A Dog’s Purpose, from director Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules, Dear John, The 100-Foot Journey), shares the soulful and surprising story of one devoted dog (voiced by Josh Gad) who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love. The family film told from the dog’s perspective also stars Dennis Quaid, Peggy Lipton, Britt Robertson, K.J. Apa, Juilet Rylance, Luke Kirby, John Ortiz and Pooch Hall.

A DOG’S PURPOSE is gonna make us all ugly cry in the theater starting on January 27.
