Rejoice: Cameras Start Rolling On STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII Today!

Courtney Howard // Film Critic

The “nerds” were awoke for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. The box office reciepts and facebook status’ of your friends announcing they were on their sixth viewing of it proved this. And if we’re being real, the chatter over it hasn’t really died down that much before today’s major announcement that the highly anticipated sequel directed by Rian Johnson has begun. That’s right! Cameras have started rolling on STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII – and it was announced with a cute little teaser.

Not only do our favorites from THE FORCE AWAKENS return (faces like Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis), but a handful of others join the cast. Benicio Del Toro (BDT!), Laura Dern (whose Jedi mind trick is conjuring tears from my eyeballs), and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.

So what do YOU think this one will be titled? Let us know your best guesses below.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is scheduled for release December 15, 2017.
