Director Robert Zemeckis knows a thing or two about crafting widescreen spectacle. He also knows how to mine the entire emotional spectrum in his films. ALLIED looks like it’ll hit all the marks for us. Not only are there some intense powerhouse actors featured (Brad Pitt, Marion Cotillard, Jared Harris and Simon McBurney to name a few), atmospheric scope and spectacle are also something teased in this new trailer.

Here’s the official synopsis:

ALLIED is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.

Vive la Resistance!

ALLIED opens on November 23.
