‘STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS’ Poster Dazzles, Teasers Tease, Trailer Debut Info

Courtney Howard // Film Critic

Sunday has officially become “funday!”

To commence the countdown for the monumental STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS trailer launch tomorrow night, today Lucasfilm released the poster. And guys, this looks like a rainbow in my eye balls.

Let’s dissect for a minute, shall we? Could that be a new Death Star we see in the background? Looking at the way Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) is lined up with Rey (Daisy Ridley), like in a balance between dark and light, will an inner conflict between both main characters ensue? I also can’t get over the artist’s rendering of Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) as, well, I don’t think it looks anything like her. However, you best believe I’m gonna rock my hair like that for the next few months.

The trailer will debut on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” on Monday, October 19, during halftime of the National Football League (NFL) game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia. The game starts at 5:15 p.m. PDT/8:15 p.m. EDT.  Following the trailer launch, tickets to the highly anticipated cinematic event will be on sale everywhere movie tickets are sold.

Here are a few teasers to the trailer:

The first features Poe (Oscar Isaac) and Finn (John Boyega).

The second is an exciting montage, teasing the new faces and BB-8!

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS opens in U.S. theaters on December 18.
