What happens when a group of reporters break into the infamously restricted AREA 51? Well, we almost never got the chance to find out until PARANORMAL ACTIVITY director Oren Peli’s long awaited film was released from studio vault jail today for a very short theatrical run.
Paramount studios released this statement saying, “AREA 51” will debut Friday, May 15th and run through Sunday, May 17th with one showtime daily. Tickets are on sale online and at participating Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas box offices beginning Monday, May 11th. The found footage horror film will also be available May 15th on VOD and all digital platforms.”
Peli had great success dealing with the supernatural. Let’s see if he can pull off the extraterrestrial.
