Video Interview: ‘EVERYBODY WANTS SOME!!’ cast imagine their characters in ‘DAZED AND CONFUSED’

Some have labeled DAZED AND CONFUSED as one of the greatest hangout movies of all-time. It’s a movie you watch not only for its artistic qualities and good banter, but also as a genuinely fun experience spending time with its enjoyable characters.

Texas-based filmmaker Richard Linklater has perfected the craft with his often unconventional narratives and fantastic characters. The more times you watch his films, the more the cast becomes your old friends and the more a part of you they become.

Linklater captures that same essence with his spiritual-sequel to DAZED AND CONFUSED (and BOYHOOD), titled EVERYBODY WANTS SOME!!, which premiered at Austin’s South by Southwest Film Festival earlier this month.

The film’s setting moves from high school to college and the ‘70s to the ‘80s. It follows a freshman named Jake (Blake Jenner) and his first weekend of college, experiencing a frat-like welcome with a group of hard-partying baseball players as they navigate the tricky and unsupervised waters of young adulthood.

Fresh Fiction had the opportunity to sit down with stars Wyatt Russell (“Willoughby”), Glen Powell (“Finn”) and J. Quinton Johnson (“Dale”) to discuss their experience, their favorite hangout movies and imagining their characters in DAZED AND CONFUSED.
