‘DEEPWATER HORIZON’ Trailer Teases Real-Life Disaster & One Messy School Project

Courtney Howard // Film Critic

Some of my favorite trailers are when the agency cutting them take a scene from the movie and just lets it play as is. Director Peter Berg’s DEEPWATER HORIZON almost does just that, but cuts in and out of the fictionalized events aboard a drilling rig, effectively building intensity within a very brief window of time.

On April 20, 2010, the world’s largest man-made disaster occurred on the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico. Directed by Peter Berg (Lone Survivor), this story honors the brave men and women whose heroism would save many on board, and change everyone’s lives forever.

The film stars Mark Wahlberg,  Kurt Russell,  John Malkovich, Gina Rodriguez, Dylan O’Brien and Kate Hudson.

Hold onto your butts when DEEPWATER HORIZON opens on September 30.
