‘KEANU’ Trailer Teases Key & Peele’s Visionary Comedic Genius, One Cute Kittehface

Courtney Howard // Film Critic

If you loved Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele’s show on Comedy Central, KEY & PEELE, and mourned their announcement that they were no longer doing the show, chances are you will flip your sh*t over the trailer to their newest project, KEANU. I genuinely laughed a lot during it and think you will too.

After a bad breakup, Peele’s character gets over the loss with the help of a darling little kitteh-face he names Keanu. However, healing from heartbreak won’t be so easy as a drug kingpin (played by Method Man) has kitteh-napped Keanu. What this bad guy didn’t count on is Peele and his bestie (played by Key) going after him and his operation in order to get Keanu back.

Long story short, this is total genius at work.

The film was directed by Peter Atencio (who worked on the dynamic duo’s show), written by Peele and Alex Rubens (who also wrote on KEY & PEELE) and also stars Will Forte, Jason Mitchell (STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON) and lots and lots of George Michael songs.

Let’s look at that adorbz kitteh-face again, shall we?!

I can’t stand the cute!

KEANU opens (not soon enough) on April 22, but wanna bet this plays to SXSW crowds first?
