Red Carpet Interviews: Author John Green, Halston Sage & Saint Motel Talk ‘PAPER TOWNS’

Preston Barta // Features Editor

Yesterday was a hot one for the fans who lined up at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, TX, to see author John Green, the band Saint Motel and the cast of PAPER TOWNS, but as the day went on and the talent arrived, it proved to be worth every drop of sweat.

Next week sees the release of Green’s second film adaptation, PAPER TOWNS, following the hugely successful THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. The film tells of a young man (Nat Wolff) and his friends who embark upon the road trip of their lives to find the missing girl next door (Cara Delevingne).

Fresh Fiction had the chance to catch up with author John Green, speak with Halston Sage (who plays Lacey in the film) and Saint Motel (their song “My Type” is a part of the film’s soundtrack). Check out the short but sweet video below!

PAPER TOWNS opens July 24.

I have been working as a film journalist since 2010, dividing the first four years between radio broadcasting and entertainment writing in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. In 2014, I entered Fresh Fiction (FreshFiction.tv) as the features editor. The following year, I stepped into the film critic position at the Denton Record-Chronicle, a daily North Texas print publication. My time is dedicated to writing theatrical film reviews, at-home entertainment columns, and conducting interviews with on-screen talent and filmmakers, as well as hosting a podcast devoted to genre filmmaking (called My Bloody Podcast). I've been married for ten happy years, and I have one son who is all about dinosaurs just like his dad.
