…and they brought along a gaggle of new faces!
NOW YOU SEE ME is a rousing and super fun popcorn film that entertained as much as it amazed us with some spectacular magic. Now the gang are back – well, minus Isla Fisher (The three horsemen?) – to wow us with some more tricks and schemes in NOW YOU SEE ME 2. Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine have all returned for a second act, bringing Lizzy Caplan and Daniel Radcliffe along for the ride.
I spoke with director Jon M. Chu (who takes the reigns from Louis Letterier) about a month ago about what we could expect from this sequel and who amazed him the most with their skills.
“It’s a fun movie to make. We have an amazing cast. This one we go to London, Macau and we get to be with the horsemen more. The first one was more of a show that they’d put on. But this one is much more that we get to be with the characters as they try to use their magic skills for other reasons.
Dave Franco has gotten really good at cardistry. We have magicians on set the whole time. Dave just got really good at that stuff. He could impress anyone at some bar, anytime he wants. Woody can do some serious mentalism. We had Keith Barry, our magic consultant, and he trained Woody very well. I’m pretty impressed.”
NOW YOU SEE ME 2 opens on June 10, 2016.
