Bill Lawrence’s work (Ted Lasso and Scrubs), known for its comedic brilliance, takes a thrilling turn in his latest series, Bad Monkey. Here, he skillfully intertwines humor with a compelling murder mystery, offering a unique blend of genres that will pique your interest.

The 10-episode series revolves around Andrew Yancy, a former Miami police officer turned health inspector in the Keys. Portrayed brilliantly by Vince Vaughn, Yancy’s life takes an unexpected turn when he stumbles upon a case involving a human arm found by tourists. This discovery becomes his ticket to reentering law enforcement, but he must first navigate a cast of eccentric Floridians and a mischievous monkey.

In our video interview below, we delve into the process of adapting Carl Hiaasen’s book, a hilarious incident of pancaking a raccoon, and how Lawrence’s wife reacted to the dialogue of the characters.

You can watch the first two episodes on Apple TV+ today and catch new episodes every Wednesday through Oct. 9.
