If you’ve already read R.J. Palacio’s New York Times bestseller “Wonder,” then you’re probably already familiar with the indelible characters within those pages. That doesn’t mean you aren’t anxious to see how co-writer/ director Stephen Chbosky (THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER), along with writers Steve Conrad and Jack Thorne, adapted the beloved novel for the cinema. WONDER stars Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Jacob Tremblay, Mandy Patinkin, Daveed Diggs, and Izabela Vidovic – and it looks like they’ve nailed the heartrending message instilled in the pages of the novel.
For those unfamiliar, the story is about August “Auggie” Pullman, whose facial deformities prevented him from attending mainstream school. Until now. He becomes the unlikely hero of his fifth grade class, teaching his community about compassion.
In order to celebrate the film’s impending release, here are a handful of featurettes to help you become better acclimated to the world of WONDER. Have the tissues nearby as this one is bound to hit you right in the heart.
WONDER opens on November 17.
