I have been working as a film journalist since 2010, dividing the first four years between radio broadcasting and entertainment writing in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. In 2014, I entered Fresh Fiction (FreshFiction.tv) as the features editor. The following year, I stepped into the film critic position at the Denton Record-Chronicle, a daily North Texas print publication. My time is dedicated to writing theatrical film reviews, at-home entertainment columns, and conducting interviews with on-screen talent and filmmakers, as well as hosting a podcast devoted to genre filmmaking (called My Bloody Podcast). I've been married for seven happy years, and I have one son who is all about dinosaurs just like his dad.
Well, it looks like the FAST & FURIOUS franchise is showing no signs of slowing down, as the eighth installment is in the works.
Ludacris revealed earlier this month that there was talk of an eighth film happening, but Universal just confirmed that it’s officially a go– and it will race into theaters on April 14, 2017.
It should come as no surprise that another sequel is coming, given the major success of FURIOUS 7, which reportedly grossed a whopping $300 million domestically.
There’s no word at this time as to whether franchise favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, or Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be back, but you can expect an announcement sometime in the near-future.
Stay tuned for more information.
