For some couples, the holiday season is a time to…put a ring on it. Well, that’s assuming that all goes well and there’s no mixup.

In the new romance drama/comedy film Something from Tiffany’s, Kendrick Sampson’s Ethan Greene is picking up an engagement ring from Tiffany & Company for his girlfriend (Shay Mitchell), while another young man (Ray Nicholson) is after a pair of earrings for his special someone (Zoey Deutch). The two strangers unknowingly swap gifts, and what follows are some priceless reactions from them and their respective partners come Christmas.

Ahead of the film’s release on Prime Video this weekend, the Denton Record-Chronicle had the opportunity to sit down virtually with the Houston-raised Sampson (Insecure and How to Get Away with Murder). In the below video chat, we discuss his growing up in Texas, his “good dude” character and the personal failures he feels most thankful for.
