When the newly rebooted TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES was finally over, I had more than a handful of unanswered questions plaguing my mind. Did music composer Bryan Tyler get paid by the note? What was the frosty pink lip gloss budget on this film? Is April O’Neil the worst reporter in the world? What happened to Eric Sachs (William Fichtner)? Did he die and could he return? Did Shredder die? Well, those “heroes in a half shell” are back to, once again, save the world in TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS. Directed by Dave Green (who directed the underrated Amblin-esque film, EARTH TO ECHO), this next chapter assembles a few more of the franchise’s iconic characters – like Casey Jones (Stephen Amell), Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (Stephen Farrelly). Oh and Tyler Perry is in it too! Remember: we all loved him in GONE GIRL so, there’s hope.
Guys, I’m getting a real Chris O’Donnell vibe from Stephen Amell…
Bebop and Rocksteady’s appearance leads me to believe that Shredder isn’t really dead. So that answers one of my 11 lingering questions.
Now the question becomes, when can we put this in our eyeballs? TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS opens on June 3.
