With the success of films like BRIDESMAIDS and BAD MOMS, studios have finally (FINALLY!) figured out there’s an undeserved female market who enjoy seeing their comedic daily struggles reflected back on the silver screen. And in an era of representation mattering, there’s no better film that will satiate our thirsts for female-driven comedy this summer quite like GIRLS TRIP is almost guaranteed to do.

Director Malcolm D. Lee (THE BEST MAN franchise, BARBERSHOP: THE NEXT CUT) has given us solid laughs with heart before and, judging by the looks of this redband trailer, he’s gonna do it again with funny ladies Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish. Take a look.

Within 15 seconds of this trailer starting, I was laughing. This is gonna be a giant hit. It should say a lot that I instantly care about these characters only having spent two minutes with them. I also predict Haddish (THE CARMICHAEL SHOW) will be the one you’ll be talking about after the movie ends.

Here’s the official synopsis:

When four lifelong friends—Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish—travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there’s enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush.

Gather up your girls and take a trip to the theater when GIRLS TRIP opens on July 21.
