‘DOCTOR STRANGE’ trailer takes us on a mind-bending, absolutely trippy adventure

There was much to do – really – about nothing when the first trailer for director Scott Derrickson’s DOCTOR STRANGE premiered a few months ago. Many, (myself not included) made a huge stink about whitewashing of the role Tilda Swinton plays in the film – a role inhabited in the comics by an Asian man. However, now it’s been a few weeks and the controversy has subsided and people have moved onto the next controversy – perhaps even real problems plaguing this country. It’s now that we are primed to receive a second trailer.

Marvel debuted its newest trailer at San Diego Comic late this afternoon to much fanfare. Trailer #2 is very, well, Nolan-esque, with allusions to BATMAN BEGINS and INCEPTION littered throughout. Take a look and you’ll see what I mean.

I like this second trailer a heck of a lot more than the previous one, simply because it features Benedict Wong and Mads Mikkelsen a lot more. And guys, the special effects sequences look IN. CRED. AH. BLE! I’d also bet there’s a slew of nerds who will be changing their wifi passwords to “shamballa” today too.

DOCTOR STRANGE opens on November 4.
